Rep Member Facilitates CNG Conversion, Electric Car Charging Centre to Kabba

Hon. Salman Idris, the member representing Kabba-Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency, has secured a Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicle conversion centre and an electric car charging centre to be located near Kogi State University Kabba.

This initiative was announced during a courtesy visit to the Director General of the National Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) in Abuja.

The Director General, Oluwawemimo Joseph Osanipin expressed appreciation for Hon. Idris’s visit and highlighted the agency’s readiness to partner with him in promoting alternative energy sources, particularly in CNG and electric vehicles (EVs).

He noted that Kogi State’s strategic location with Ajaokuta being a major source of CNG makes it an ideal hub for such initiatives.

The proposed CNG conversion centre and electric charging station in Kabba will not only provide essential services but also serve as a training centre for individuals interested in CNG technology. This development is expected to boost the adoption of alternative energy sources in the region and support the growth of the automobile industry.

Hon. Salman Idris’s efforts in securing this project demonstrate his commitment to promoting sustainable energy solutions and supporting the development of Kogi State. The establishment of the CNG conversion centre and electric charging station is poised to have a positive impact on the local economy and environment.
