Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi State has extended his gratitude to government officials, political appointees, and well-meaning citizens for standing by his family during the loss of his father, Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani.
In a statement personally issued, Governor Ododo described his late father as a man of humility, discipline, and devotion to God and humanity, noting that his passing remains a painful loss to the family.
The Governor, however, said the widespread show of concern and solidarity provided strength and comfort, reinforcing the bond of unity among the people of Kogi State. He stressed that the support he received transcended political, ethnic, and religious boundaries, reflecting the spirit of togetherness championed since 2016 by former Governor Yahaya Bello.
“From the Deputy Governor to every public servant, you stood firmly with my family in our moment of grief. Your support eased the weight of this painful loss,” Ododo remarked.
He further prayed for God’s blessings upon all who identified with his family, appreciating their compassion and goodwill.
Governor Ododo pledged to continue promoting peace, harmony, and unity in the state, adding that the solidarity shown during this difficult period demonstrates the resilience of the Kogi people when united.
