The Federal Government has officially commenced the disbursement of the newly approved ₦77,000 monthly allowance for National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members across the country. This marks a significant increase from the previous ₦33,000, fulfilling the government’s promise to enhance the welfare of corps members.
Reports from various states confirm that corps members have started receiving the new payment, sparking widespread excitement and appreciation. Many have taken to social media to celebrate the increment, calling it a much-needed relief amid the country’s rising cost of living.
Speaking on the development, NYSC officials assured corps members of a seamless transition to the new payment structure. They also reiterated the government’s commitment to prioritizing youth empowerment and national development through the scheme.
Meanwhile, economic analysts have lauded the decision, stating that the increased allowance will not only improve the financial stability of corps members but also boost local economies. However, some have raised concerns about the sustainability of the new payment in the long run.
As the implementation continues, corps members are advised to check their payment status and report any irregularities to the appropriate NYSC authorities.
